Biggest tires for a stock G1
Probably been asked a bunch and I swear I tried to google it but what is the biggest tires I can put on my stock 80 G1.Doesnt look like much room. Id love to lift it but the early G1's have an odd spindle and hub setup so the Jakes kit is out.
Thought of making a homemade 2 inch lift just don't want to mess up the steering like my 84. Don't get me wrong the carts awesome but steers like soup compared to this older cart. |

I have 205-50-10s on my non-lifted G1 (I am the odd ball who prefers non-lifted carts to lifted). That size fits awesome. All of the wheel well space is pretty much used up 100% and I don't believe anything bigger will fit. That said, there is no rubbing anywhere whatsoever.

I bought a stock G16 that had 18x9.5-8 knobbys. I think that's the biggest tire for stock height.

You just reminded me that I have a pic of my build as well. Here are those 10 inchers on my cart. Note that, even though they are 10", they are low profile so they are probably about the same edge to edge diameter as Dave's 8 inchers.
