Drive 2 Premium Lighting Question
Just installed the factory Yamaha premium light kit on my Drive 2 PTV (adding turn signals, brake lights, etc). What I find odd though is I can activate the lights, turn signals when the key is off. Is this normal operation? I would expect when the key is off these functions would not work.

Re: Drive 2 Premium Lighting Question
That's normal. I have a PTV that came with that same kit and it works with the key off as well.

Re: Drive 2 Premium Lighting Question
Thanks for the confirmation. I don't know why Yamaha did this to be honest. Why not power the kit based on key position. Don't need a turn signal to work if the cart if off. :)

Re: Drive 2 Premium Lighting Question
Do you guys know of anything I can add to self cancel the turn signal? I might need a beeper or something, so my dad knows they are still on.

Re: Drive 2 Premium Lighting Question
I usually add a led indicator to the windshield post when this is needed. I think I have posted the wiring diagram with modifications needed to hook it up. A strip of LEDs in your line of sight should get the job done.
There is definitely no easy way to make them self-cancel. |

Re: Drive 2 Premium Lighting Question
wiring in a backup beeper in-line also helps to know you left them on by mistake.

Re: Drive 2 Premium Lighting Question
You could stick a relay on the key easy enough, and run them off that. Not sure there is a need normally. You can get tiny 12v LED lights, maybe you could run them on the steering column or dash to make it obvious they were on, just run them off the signal wires. I had to do that on a utv I drilled some little round ones into the dash, they were smaller than a doorbell button for example.
