Another option is to call Plowman's. Don told me they sell an adjustable strut that he had developed. This would cost some money but would be simpler.
This is totally true, and unless you wanna modify it yourself, that's just how it will be. Yamaha dealers cant do squat about it (for warranty purposes). Go look at every one they have on the lot, every one will have it.

I set the toe in to 1/8" and drive it around for awhile and the front opens to at least 1/2" toe out.

I can't tell by the photo what you did. Which bolt hole & how did you modify it? I need to fix my negative camber too!

I can't tell by the photo what you did & what bolt hole you're referring. Can you explain or draw an arrow? How did you elongate it? I need to fix my negative camber too!

I placed a circle around the bolt where I elongated the hole in the strut. You only have to elongate the hole 1/8" - 1/4" to allow the wheel to rotate to be vertical. I did it by trial and error until I got the hole elongated enough for the wheel to be vertical. I elongated the hole by using a round file. It was a little slow but clean. I just placed a 2' level against the tire and when it was vertical tightened the bolt in that position.
