Broken Engine Rear Frame
I just bought a used 2002 EZGO Workhorse 800G cart and was looking it over in poreperarion of a lift. It has the Robins 29C engine. My excitement was dashed when I noticed the engine rear frame was broken at the axle on one side. Is this a common problem? Is there a way to fix/mend this? Is there a replacement part that is more durable than the factory part? Does anyone have one of these laying around that they want to sell? Thanks for the help.

Re: Broken Engine Rear Frame
I think you mean the Cast Aluminum Rear section... anybody who has gone to a Big Block engine and cradle may have one lying around. Ezgo 1994 & up. Not a common problem ~ But not unheard of ....damage is usually from impact or similar abuse.

Re: Broken Engine Rear Frame
I have seen a few break, but like scotty said it was usually from impact of some sort.
I see a few broken thru out the year. I keep one in stock. Check out site sponsors for the replacement part. |

Re: Broken Engine Rear Frame
Scottyb....you are correct....it is the pot aluminum part. Great idea checking with guys who have done engine swaps. What forum would be most appropriate for that request? Anyone out there have one they want to get rid of?

Re: Broken Engine Rear Frame
I want to again thank thewskrs for attempting to help me out. Unfortunately the part he sent me was an axle mount and not an engine mount. So....I still need a rear engine mount...I will be happy to make a donation to Justin Lee or pay you directly for it. Any help is greatly appreciated!
