Default Power wash 2 stroke EZ GO

I am new to the site and I have a 2 stroke EZ GO marathon, and the eng is very dirty from years of use. Is there anything I should worry about or protect before I power wash the compartment and engine. This is an amazing site any help would be great.

I pulled the motor out and pressure washed it. I also pressure washed the engine compartment. No ill effects. Just let everything dry out good. You may want to cover up the back side of the key switch.

Personally I would think twice about power washing. Water is going to spray everywhere including the clutches, carburetor, the starter, the regulator, well you get the idea. In addition I know how fragile the 25+ year old wiring is and you may well end up riping wires out of connectors.
I would wrap the starter in a poly bag and shield off all the electrical equipment on the firewall then use a proprietary engine aerosol cleaner, rinsing off with a low pressure water hose.
Just another $0.02
