Yamaha Electric Cart

My dad has a older Yamaha electric cart older model around 98 but it is 48 volt 4 12 volt batteries pretty sure someone changed it over. It has new batteries in it maybe 5 months old. He was driving it the other day got off it as he got back in it, it would not go forward at all. He then put it in reverse and drove it in reverse home. Got off it again and now it will not run in forward or reverse. Any suggestions. I know this is not a lot to go off of without knowing much about the cart. He lives 6 hours away and it will be a while before I can go down there trying to help him out.

The only yamahas that had 4x 12v from the factory were 2007 and newer "drives". You said it might be a conversion job tho. A 1998 would be a G19e. Not sure how someone would go about getting 12v's to fit in those trays tho. Gonna have to get some more info to be much help.

Are batteries charged? My older buggy when the batteries are close to dead stops going in forward.

Batteries are fully charged. It would run in reverse not forward then quit in reverse. Going to try forward and reverse switch first
