Ezgo seems to flood itself. Help!
My 1988 2 cycle ezgo seems to be flooding itself and I can't figure out why. It starts off very sluggish then goes. The engine is rebuilt and I'm running a oil gas mix without the injector. If I jack up the cart and unhook the fuel line it will start sluggish then it will run like a champ until the fuel is gone. Then if I hook up the fuel line and take it off the jack, after fuel gets back in it, it will start from a dead stop no problem. But after running it a 1/4 mile the engine floods itself again. Grrrr. Help!!!!!

I'm really just guessing here.
Float level, or ripped diaphragm in the fuel pump. Those are the only two places that gas can get into the engine. |

There's a club Car dealer on 14 outside of Unity.
Bob's golf carts on 534 in Berlin Cener Gene's golf carts on Western Reserve Rd. in Ellsworth. I don't know what they stock, but you might get lucky. |

RT 14 does not have one Austintown cycle said they had one but it was not the right one. He said Bob's should have stuff for old ezgo 2 cycles. They don't open until 11a. Keeping my fingers crossed! |

How close are you to the Salem dragstrip?
I'm looking at my old pump. The upper diaphragm looks like it is still good. You can have it free of charge. If Bob's is a no go let me know. |

Bob's had a box of old fuel pumps. I opened one up and it was good inside. They gave it to me for free. Man I lucked out.

Good. Glad to hear that.
I'll have to remember that if I ever need parts. Good service goes a long way. My cart came from there through my neighbor. It was a $300 deal that he couldn't get to run right. Fuel pump, and seals was all it really needed. |
