Garry-Right about the $$. Thats why I would try the code 4 first. Local CC dealer charges $85.

For $300 and stock tires you'll see 22+mph and eliminate the Regen Braking. With 22" tires you'll be doing 26+ mph. There will be a slight torque gain as well but very slight, no loss. Here is a thread on it, just forget about where I said do the Code 4 since it isn't necessary if you do the motor upgrade.

Also there is another member here, pjshane, that used a different motor, available from BGW sponsors and is doing close to 30 mph, 32 best WOT, but also has changed out his controller and wires. Very impressive speeds!

When I had "just" code 4 with 22" tires I got 21.3 mph

kographix-Now you have some options. You say you want to speed up "to about 20mph".

1.Code 4 with everything stock seems to get you "about 20 mph".
2.Add 22" tires to the code 4 and you get 21.3.
3Add $300. motor (kick out the regen) with stock tires and you get 22+.
4.Add 22" tires (cost about $165with your rims) to this motor you get 26
5.Now add controller and #4 wires ($300./$400) and you get 30/32mph.

You see this is not a complicated process just add $$ and you add speed.

Actually that's with a D&D motor for around $600 plus $400 for the Alltrax controller and $100 for #4 wires to get that 30-32mph
