2002 CC(gas) - Acceleration issue
Hello,
I recently bought a 2002 Club Car golf cart and I have a few questions for you guys. The guy I bought it from got all of his parts and instructions from BU, so I thought maybe I could ask you about the cart. 2002 Gas Golf cart 6" lift 10" rims 22" tires (to the best of my knowledge - it was a package from BU but I do not have the paperwork in front of me) winch on front hitch on back seat / utility bed (flip / flop type) The cart seems to have almost no acceleration. I will do my best to explain... The cart has a top speed of around 10, maybe 15 mph on straight / flat surface (perfectly fine for my needs and the campground rules), but the cart take a while to get up to speed, and struggles with inclines or declines. If I am going top speed on a straight / flat surface anytime that I take my foot off of the accelerator it pretty much comes to a stop (not brake stopping, just lack of power). Even if the accelerator is instantly lifted and pressed again, the cart will still come to almost a complete stop before beginning to accelerate again. Can you think of what could be causing this? Can you recommend parts to inspect / replace to fix this? I can get you more information as needed this weekend when I head back to the campground. He also mentioned that the 6" lift kit makes the motor "tilt" and that due to that you can only fill the oil 1/2 way or it starts to back up into some type of tube when on an incline or decline. Does that sound normal? Is there any parts that I can buy to "correct" this? I also noticed that there are 2 inline fuel filters, which I think seems odd. Is this normal? I will be more than happy to provide additional information if you need it. Thanks in advance, Mike D |

two fuel filters is correct . my oil on 6 inch lift shows 1/2 way low when correct amount is in it. cart will only run faster if governor is adjusted or zip tied .have you checked tire pressure? I run 15psi on street.

Re: 2002 CC(gas) - Acceleration issue
Thanks for the reply and confirmation on the dual filters. I don't really want it to be faster, just more responsive to the accelerator pedal. Yes, I have checked the tires, and they are all properly filled.
Thanks again! Mike D |

I would check both clutches and make sure there are not big grooves or dips in them. They should be nice and smooth and transition smoothly. Also, your carb might not be opening all the way. Check the peddle adjustment and make sure carb is opening all the way.

If you put it in service mode & in neutral, with the seat up and hammer the throttle, the throttle on the carb should go wide open or close to it and then back To close or whatever the limiter is set on it. Good way to tell if its doing that at least on my 99

Pull the white cam piece on the back of the shifter (under the sea). Spin it 180 and drop it back in.

Next post has a pic.
You rotate the yellow thing in the pic, put car in neutral and engine will start |
