trying to locate HES and board best I can find is 6 to 8 weeks.

Take a picture of the current HES. Your cart should have one that has the board and sensor together. When you open the peddle assembly, you should see the HES and a microswitch, no other electrical components. Is that the case?

Those are the same as the EZGO HES, from what I've been told. That sticker by the board came off the HES, and should have the model number of the HES on it. The current HES for Tomberlins have the board built in, and connect to the same plug that it going into your board currently (See picture). I would assume that you can simply install a new style one and abandon your board, but I couldn't be 100% sure about it.

Its not that straightforward, it will work, you have to swap the two outside wires on the plug in and it will work.

The plug is square with 3 wires. Couldn't you just flip the plug when you install it? The HES doesn't have any directional alignment for the plug.
