Default 1986 Club Car DS Gas Governor Question

Hey Guys so I just recent bought a 1986 club car ds. It was not running and had sat for a while and I am just getting it going. I have hooked up the accelerator cable (from the box to the carb), but I don't have a cable running from governor arm to the back of the engine. Am i supposed to have a cable running back there? If so does anybody have a picture of the setup? Thanks in advance.

Yes I believe so. If I can, I will snap a photo for you. Although mine is used too, so it doesn't look like OEM. :)

Hopefully yours doesn't look as oily as ours. :)

I have one more question. I am just trying to get the cart running (brand new carb & air filter). It will start but it will not stay running, won't go over around 1500 RPM. Also oil is some how getting up into the fuel pump (it is coming out of the vent on the fuel pump.) do i have lines hooked up wrong or is there something that I can do that will solve this issue and help the cart to stay running?

too much oil , i bet if you drain it and start over again with the recomended amout and clear the oil out of the pulse line and make sure it is set to drain back to the crankcase , no low hanging loops
