Re: Adding light bar to TXT questions? relays, voltage reducer?
Be sure to check your light pattern you want before you buy. Projector leds are great for distance at the expense of width and close up light. Do you really want to light up the road 1/4 mile away but not see anything in front of the bumper on a buggy that goes under 30mph? Combo beams work nice on carts as they light up directly in front of the cart and a little to the side, [nice for turning].

Re: Adding light bar to TXT questions? relays, voltage reducer?
Here are some somewhat crappy pictures of my light bar just to get an idea as to what is possible. Its approximately 22 inches and cost me less than $30. I have it wired without a relay, through a standard fuse, I think 10 amp.

Re: Adding light bar to TXT questions? relays, voltage reducer?
Bump here with a question: if you already have a 48v-12v reducer installed and running to the stock Club Car Precedent front light kit, how do you add on a 2nd led light bar? I want to have the 2nd led light bar on a dedicated switch.
Do you tie in to the same reducer? If so, how? Or do you add another reducer dedicated to that 2nd LED light bar? Or do you tie in the 2nd LED light bar straight to the battery pack? |

Re: Adding light bar to TXT questions? relays, voltage reducer?
The 12v out of your current reducer should go to a marine style fuse box. From that fuse box you run power through a switch to whatever 12v accessory you want, as long as the total amp draw isn’t more than your reducer is capable of putting out.

Here's a picture of mine. If I were doing this from scratch, I'd have purchased blade fuses instead of glass, however I probably have over 50 glass fuses. |
