I killed my cart: No solenoid click on pedal push
I have a 2013 EZ-Go TXT (3017533). I did one of the dumber things I've ever done. I wanted to replace the flashing beacon on the rooftop so I can get the cart in my new house's garage. I decided to mount LED flashers on the roof rail. After removing the flashing beacon, I checked the voltage on the wires with the switch on, and it was a very low approximately 2 volts. I temporarily hooked the flashing beacon back up, and with the switch on there was no light. I put the F/R switch in F, still no light. I pushed the accelerator, and voila...the beacon lit up.
I'm not sure why the beacon was wired in this fashion. I've been driving it for a few years not realizing that the light was only on when the accelerator was depressed. Here's the really stupid part. To test one of the LED assemblies, I just hooked it up and pressed the accelerator. The LED assembly was quickly fried, and the cart ceased to move forward or reverse. When I press the accelerator there is no solenoid sound. I've checked all the fuses (two) I can see, and they are all intact. Did I destroy my solenoid? Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

Re: I killed my cart: No solenoid click on pedal push
You fried the little micro switch on the F&R assuming this is an Ezgo Series cart with a lever for F&R selection. Watch the switch triggers while you shift back and forth. One switch triggers (closes) in reverse only - the other switch triggers in both directions, My guess is this is the switch you fried.

I have a TXT48 as shown on the far right in the diagram. It is a 2013. I see the solenoid cover, but I have no idea where the control unit is located.

Re: I killed my cart: No solenoid click on pedal push
It is located under the other cover next to the solenoid.
Do you have a voltmeter and know how to use it? If not go here and watch a 4 minute video > http://www.cartsunlimited.net/troubleshooting-tips.html |

Yes, I have a DMM and know how to use it. Too bad I didn't use it before I killed my cart. :-)
