Gas Powered G9 - Eating Batteries
I have a 1991 G9 - I have gone through 2 batteries in 6 months? They worked for a couple of months and then they will be dead in the water. When I go to have them tested they will no longer hold a charge?
They are Exide batteries and both were brand new. I returned the first one, someone gave me GREAT advice on here, they tested it and no longer would test under load and not hold a charge. Now 2.5 months later ... the NEW replacement battery is doing the same thing. Voltage regulator seems to be charging correctly. Digital Meter shows 15.3 to 16 volts when running then when the motor stops ... it drops down to 12.8 to 13.1 volts at the battery. And if you test it without it running at all for 48 hours .... it's down to 4.5 v. I have checked all of the connections and everything is clean and tight. Any ideas guys? Is there a special battery for golf carts ... I am new to all of this ... just running out of ideas what maybe wrong. Thanks all for the help in advance! PH |
