controller gone bad

I have a 1996 ezgo txt cart that I rebuilt in 2011. The D&D controller is not working properly and I need to get it replaced (model #AXE4865 R6 650A). My cart is a 48V with D@D motor with many upgrades. I would like to get a controller that would be an easy replacement so I do not have to rework the wiring if possible. I do not necessarily need a Cadillac just a good reliable controller. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The AXE controller has been superseded by the SR controls. THe SR control is the very best the industry has to offer in terms of simple, reliable, high output series speed controllers. AN SR control is a plug and play replacement for the AXE.
