Replacing FE350 Cam
Currently working in a FE350 CW in a 2003 carryall. Cam failed and I need to replace the Case cover and cam. I am working with a donor motor for parts. I am trying to measure out the case side shim for the cam and measurements aren't close to the chart. However if I add a shim to the flywheel side of the camshaft, the measurements work. Crankshaft measures OK. Is there any issue with having a shim on each end of the camshaft? Thanks

Re: Replacing FE350 Cam
Does it look like there's any obvious wear on the case or the camshaft on that end?
I don't remember there being any shims on that end of the camshaft, but I would think if one was required to be there the manual would show it. I don't see anything that says there should be one. |
