Rear hub failure
I have a newer gas transporter with a spun rear hub. The splines are completely gone. I removed the other side to check for play and found the axle but to be hand tight and a small amount of play between the axle and hub on that side as well. We ordered replacement hubs for both sides. I understand the axle nuts should be torqued to around 100 ft-lbs. question is do you typically have to replace axles in this situation? The hubs appear to be cast and softer than the axles themselves. The axles look to be in decent shape. Opinions?

Re: Rear hub failure
Looks like it might be considered a carryall 500. The parts manual shows the two piece rear axle. I can’t find a free online version of section 26 which details the torque on the nuts.
