Default Voltage light and digital readout

Hey there, while it tries to snow up here in the great white North, I am doing a bunch of addons and what not to the cart. 2000DS
One of them is a digital voltage readout display instead of the orange warning light.
On my previous cart, I ran wires back to the pack to get the read out. I don't want any extra wires here, if I don't have to..so my question is, can I simply hook up the new voltage meter to the existing two wires for the orange light? Will that give me a pack read? If not, is there anywhere at the front/dash of the cart that will give me a full pack read?

Thanks all, hope the New Year is treating you well!

Measure the voltage of your existing warning light wires with your multimeter and compare that reading to the voltage measured directly on your battery pack.

It they are the same, then you should be able to use the warning light wires ... or any other wires in the area of your dash that pass that test.

I'd leave the light alone and run off the key switch and either tap into the harness or into the pack itself. Easy peasy. The light only comes on when needed, so it will not work as a voltmeter.

Thanks all, I have all the pack undone currently as I am working on some different things, so just thought there might be a quick answer..lol I will run a fresh pair from the pack to my digital readout, then it isn't interfering with anything else. It auto shuts off so it shouldn't drain anything either.
