Default Re: EZGO 36V issue with full throttle

Did another test this morning.
Put the cart on charge last night, and the 36v pack was only up to 37.1x
The cart moved in forward and reverse and did not cut out at all when slowly coming to full speed. Volt meter showed the pack dropping to 34.xx volts when measured from the charging port.

When I dropped the hammer from a stop, the voltage dropped to 30.x, and the cart did stutter once or twice before taking off. I did not do this test too often, did not want to damage anything.

I think at this point I am dealing with battery issues. One issue, the pack is getting a good full charge. Second, when under a full load, the pack is not delivering the power needed. Would anyone else agree with that, or am I completely off base with this assessment?

Looks like you have battery issues, not fully charging and dropping significantly under load, but don't be surprised if the controller is going out also.

I have the same cart. What is the expected reasonable drop under load? I'm assuming a moderate hill and single passenger?

For a standard 36V pack (225AH) it is roughly 1V per 100A being drawn, plus about twice that amount for the intrinsic resistance of the high amp cables, connection and contact. In other words about 3V/100A for a near perfect amp delivery system.

So... in layman's terms... a drop under heavy acceleration or maybe going up a hill for a 36V battery pack with a resting pack voltage of 38.2V down to say 33 or 34V would be reasonable?

That is about what mine does, roughly about a 10% drop.

A 5V drop sounds pretty reasonable.
