87 CC Solenoid Issues on #5
Help Please on a Club Car:
I have an 87 with a serial number starting with A8721. I recently noticed my fifth solenoid (starboard side) was not engaging. Since I had five new ones in stock, I replaced all of them because they had been in use for five years. Despite all that I am back to square one with my #5 solenoid not engaging! Looking back in my records it appears that I also replaced the slide switch assembly about the same time which was May 2017. The way I understand it is the micro switch on the slide sends a wake call to each solenoid to engage each ascending speed stage. Is that a correct assumption?? I took many pictures during the during the disassembly and I am relatively confident I have all my solenoid wires placed correctly. So with the rear wheels off the ground I am back to square one. Does anybody agree that my next step should be to pull out the slide switch and check the micro switch?? |

Yes, disassemble the slide switch box and check all the microswitches and their connections.

It sounds like you may need to replace a microswitch, I had to do this on the little slide box. Its not hard, just time consuming and very tiny tools lol.
