98 club car white box on solenoid?
Replaced solenoid on 98 club car,36 volt resistor cart,noticed white box connected to the two big post on solenoid,is this a resistor?
White box about 1" x 1",2 wires coming out |

Found on wiring diagram,it's called a snubber
What does it do. This is a resistor cart,36 volt |

Yes it’s a resistor. It’s used for allowing a voltage path to return energy from the motor to the battery pack when the solenoid is disengaged (open), and the motor is turning or decelerating(such as when rolling downhill or when off the pedal coming to a stop). It helps to prevent arcing of the contacts in the solenoid, which helps to reduce wear and reduces the chance of welding the solenoid closed.
