Default Do I need Rear Bushing & Real Axle Seal & Bearing

I just took my cart in for an annual check. My cart is a 2016 Club Cart Precedent. I bought it used in February of this year. The former owners bought it brand new. They are an elderly couple that rarely used it. The former owner said that he might have 50 hours on the cart total. After the annual check, the golf cart dealer said that I could use a rear bushing (leaf spring) and a rear axle seal and bearing. I have seen no leaks on the cement carport where it's stored. They said that it wasn't crucial that I do it now. Does it seem logical that a cart with this little use and wear should need these parts. I'm very new to the golf cart world, so would appreciate the advice of someone that knows carts. Thanks!!

there is always that chance that it does need parts. The bushing in the rear leaf spring should be easy to see have him show you the bad part also have him show you the rear bearing and seal issues. You can usually hear a bad bearing. It never hurts to challenge a repair shop. good luck

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you sorta asked for work to be done on your cart
Quit taking the cart in for an annual check up, or expect work to be done
Unless you're brain dead and can't water the batteries or inflate tires
Your cart doesn't need a check up, just fix what breaks
There is a lubrication schedule in the manual that should be addressed

And that says it all very well. If you can do the most basic checks and battery maintenance yourself there is no need to be anywhere near a shop unless you have an obvious problem with a golf cart. It's not something you're barreling down the highway at 70+ MPH.

Any issues you do have will be obvious and easily dealt with. Clunking, likely a bushing in the front or rear that should be easy to figure out. Oil under the cart, likely a rear end leak. Whining noise when driving, likely a bearing in the motor or the axles. Dealing with any of these before they are something you can hear and feel yourself is a waste of money in my opinion.
