Default Battery Cable Recommendations

So the time has come to replace the battery cables on my new to me 2008 RXV. Doing some searching around the inter webs I have seen a whole bunch of different ones out there.

ProFrom Kingzilla
https://www.tntcartparts.com/proform...12v-batteries/

Modz 2gauge/4 gauge

Madjax

Cheaper Ebay Listing.

What should I be looking for in these cables? First time ever having to replace them in a golf cart.

Remember you need a complete set.

This is for 4-12v batteries...
3 cables for the batteries.
Main Positive.
Main Negative.
Solenoid to Controller B+.

Do you have a link to a complete set that you would recommend? All the sets I see are just the 3 for the batteries. I also see all different gauges available. Does it matter what gauge I get?

2 gauge welding cable crimped and soldered. Most sellers should know the proper lengths for your model of cart.

I've purchased a $ 22 crimp tool from Amazon, some quality 2ga cable/shoes and made my own. Perfect length of each cable, much cheaper.

Looks like golfcartcables.com has some great reviews and they are extremely knowledgable. For the lug material, they offer tinned or solid copper. What is recommended? He mentioned that 99% of people go with tinned.

I like tinned copper but both work well. I also like custom length for a clean look like OJO has. I also like to use silicone dielectric compound to minimize corrosion.

What do you do with the Silicone Dielectric Compound? Do you cover the terminals all up once you put the cables and Nuts back on the battery?

Basically a light coating around the exposed metal of the connections.
