2008 RXV won’t move
I am working on a 2008 RXV. I have good voltage but when you turn the key to reverse the solenoid clicks and the cart will do nothing. Forward will not work either. If you turn the key off and back to reverse sometimes it will run fine in forward and reverse. When I first got the cart I couldn’t get it to do anything. The solenoid bench tested bad so I replaced it. Now I have this intermittent problem. Troubleshooting suggestions? Is there any way to get codes out of an RXV without a scan tool? Does anyone have a troubleshooting chart for one that they like? Thanks!

Re: 2008 RXV won’t move
My 2009 RXV had intermittent problems till I discovered the plug connecting the brake was not making contact sometimes...I removed the plug bent the contact in the plug in a little...no more problems....to check for this if it doesn't go...with key in N...put run/tow switch to tow and see if the cart can move by pushing...if it doesn't move wiggle the plug ...you should hear "CLICK" if that's the problem

Are you referring to the one at the brake or the jumper under the dash/cup holders. Thanks!

Re: 2008 RXV won’t move
I tried the plug at the brake and I still have the same intermittent problem. But what I did notice is it has no parking brake. Run/Tow in run , key in Off the cart just rolls freely.

Re: 2008 RXV won’t move
Sounds like the parking brake is broken. That should make it fail the "twist" test on start up and not allow it to run.

Yes, there must be something wrong with the em brake, it would engage mechanical w/o power. Remove the 3 bolts of the brake and check it.
