Default rear axle help

hello all, im new here and hope im posting in the right section. i have a 1997 ezgo workhorse and i just installed a honda magna 750 engine, no probs untell i backed it outa the shop and ran thru all 6 gears and didnt get over 5 mph lol after taking off my boots and doing some quick math, i found out the output shaft on the motor has to spin 23 times before the tires turn once to make long story longer, i need a different rear axle! i hate the thought of not having reverse tho. any ideas? i have read a few posts about how to add reverse to different rear ends but just need to know what rear ends will fit/work best. P.S. im working on a budget, a very low one lol thanks guys!

The original workhorse has a 15:1 differential. You can buy high speed gear sets of 8 and 6:1. Seems to me that that would be the best solution for your project

im just learning about gearing n such and a buddy told me that if i count how many times i spin the input shaft to get the wheels to spin once then that will give me the gear ratio. if thats true... mine is a 7:1 but i also have the rear hub off the motorcycle before the diff on the cart that seems to be a 3.25:1. im hoping your correct and that it is a 15:1 on the cart, it would save me alot of trouble. is this how i check the ratio? if not, please tell me how
