I am with Sho on this one. After having the torque of a BB , i don`t see where camming the stock Yamaha engine would be worth it

Since we are kinda talking of potential performance out of stock motors how much can I get out of an FE350 with pretty much just bolt ons?

I'm hoping to get to the 14-16hp range. It's in the wifes Villager 6 that we will be taking camping.

Excellant replies Since I don't know how to multi post, I'll be adding to my post count one at a time.

285's don't "blow up", seems the weak link is that they are only an "oil splash" oiling system. If they loose oil or get to hot, the case castings for the cam and balancer can seize. Only rpm rating I could find is "starter/generator red zone", 4k. The rod, with rod bearings could and should be plasti gauged for tollerances (3 rod to crank bearings are available).

I like their new web site design
I know Plowman's stuff is top notch, but 230.00 for just the cam would make it inpractable for me.

My point exactly. After haveing built many V-twins (have to ask a stupid question, are "clones" V twin or singles?), you would never go back to stock, torque/rpm is fantastic/amazing. And that is the question of this thread, at what cost would it be worth?...not 230.00 for me

You know I'll help any way I can Ess. Standard height? Lowered? Blue, of course I may not be useing the Jakes trunk lid.....you interested? Kind of wish you were buying a G22, just for the rack and pinion steering.

I'm thinking about some minor lifting to fit 14" wheels with low pros. Chances are it's gonna be Kandy Kobalt Blue Yes I would be interested in the deck lid if your not gonna use it

I really dont like the way the 22's front shocks are..........I gotta think it would be more difficult for me to give it a 1 to 2" lift for the 14's?

Thanks Dave
