help i'm new to electric
hey everyone this is my first golf cart. i've helped people with fixing lights and wrapping seats but never had one of my own. please give me as much info or places to get the info and i'll be very greatful.
i was givin a golf cart that someone was going to switch to gas but taking everything off and losing it was as far as they got lol. it's a fully rolling cart with nice plastics, paint and nice tires. what i need to know is what do i need to get this thing running agian. i know i need the motor but what are all the electric compents called. i'm very good with motors but never had a chance to mess around with electric motors . sry if i come off stupid compared to you guys that know all about this but i have to start somewhere |

Freak, it's gonna be important to carefully describe exactly what you have so we can figure out where to start. Any idea on the year? Is there an ID plate in the passenger glove box?
What about the dash? What's on it? Pictures would help greatly.... |

sry didnt even think about that i will get the vin when i go back to my shop. but it's a yamaha , no head lights on this model. i have the rear axle with the gear / trans on it but no motor. the man question i'm wondering is the names of the electric components so i can start making a list and what to look for. i don't know what the iteams are called. i will get the number if u can check back and help then thank you and sry but thanks for working with me

Unfortunately, you posted this in the EZ-Go Electric section. I don't know diddly about Yamaha sparkies other than they are similar to my EZ-Go experiences. Perhaps a moderator can move this thread to Yamaha Electric so it will be seen by the guys who know that brand.

lol dela . i didnt know it was a yamaha till after i posted this so sry about that guys it was painted and had no labels anywhere so didn't know untill my buddy saw it yesterday and told me what model it was.
stupid question though...... electric motors are not interchangable are they?.... i didn't know if certin ones had same bolt pattern with the rear axle houseing. thanks with everything though guys even though i screwed up with the post |

No drive train or batteries but the body is in good shape? Excellent project, you have a clean slate!
Before you start your build let's discuss what you want this cart to do. Speed, torque, golf, off-road, cruise the hood? |
