06 precedent hot
I have an 2006 precedent car no go
thought soleniod was bad but when checked and put back in car would run forward for 30 seconds. I then tried rev and no go - then soleniod also stopped engaging. while i was thinking the resistor got so hot it melted the plastci cover before i put the tow switch on. any thoughts as to what maybe going on |

Re: 06 precedent hot
Either a short in the controller or the motor. You can eliminate the motor by a simple test. Unhook battery pack and put car in tow position. Unhook wires from motor. Get a multimeter and use the continuity test function and check for continuity between A1 and A2. You're looking for 100% continuity. Repeat process for F1 and F2. If there's continuity between any A post to any F post or any continuity from any of the 4 posts to the motor case replace the motor. If motor passes test, replace controller and the pre-charge resistor that melted.
