Default 2008 rxv steering prob

Well, now I have another issue for non lifted rxv.

When I turn left or right, it gets very tight and stays in turn position to where I have to pull it harder to turn more or pull hard to straighten out.

Any ideas?

Hi
The steering assembly is a rack and pinion design. The rack is supported at one end by a bushing and the other end by the pinion gear. There is an adjustable spring loaded half sleeve pushing against the back of the rack at the pinion gear. Your problem may be a bent rack (not likely this is a substantial piece), a bad bushing, or just contamination in the box that causes the grease to get hard. In my case there was a hole in the boot and sand and water got into the works. My dealer says there are no parts available for the box itself, you have to buy the assembly. I took mine apart and repair it without any problems. Seals and bearings were available from your local bearing places. New boots are available from EZGO.

Thanks for the feedback. I had it fixed and they changed out bushings/bearings. It worked ok until I hit a baby bump on the course. I felt it after it happened and then it sat for a week. Now it's near impossible to turn either way. Are these things that fragile? Sound like same issue?
