Default Solenoid.

Hi guys,

I have had someone look at my car and say the solenoid is kaput. Putting 12 v from the battery turns it over. Could it be a faulty connection?

Are you just jumping 12v power across the solenoid?

No sir. I am bridging the connection from the battery positive to the small positive pole on the base of the solenoid.

If you can put 12 volts on the small terminal and it turns over you have a activation circuit issue. Could just be the fuse next to the solenoid.

Yeah it sounds like the problem is between the ignition switch and the solenoid. Trace the wire looking for a break and check the fuse.
