![]() Hi Steve I have 2 G1's and their a strong running machine, but since their the age that they are some of them need a little tlc. Check it out see if it will start and check compression a good compression should be at or around 120lbs. Except the 82 model which is a little lower. Id make sure that it will run frontwards and backwards because those type engines were designed to run either way. I have a 82 G1 that I stretched 10 inches longer and it will pull me and a friend and my dog and I can also pull my camper all over my property with it no problem. Their a strong running machine if you go over them real good and there are a lot of people on here that own one or 2 hope that helps alittle.

![]() I guess my first question would be how much are you looking to spend if you have some cash to spend then I would deffinately look for something a little newer and in a 4 stroke alot easier for parts etc.. if your working on a budget and you can pick up a G1 cheap then in my opinion you cant go wrong with a G1 I picked mine up for 500 I have a total of 600 into it and I can out run and out climb my parents ezgo 4 stroke I am totally happy with it not to say that if I had a couple grand to spend I wouldnt have went with a newer 4 stroke Good luck!

![]() G1 make more noise, go faster, stink some, and they look like they look. Newer 4 stroke are nicer for above things, even ride a little better have a little more room, otherwise the carts are nearly the same far as construction. They are all pretty durable, so it comes to budget, availability, and above needs/wants. Also if you want to mod them, the newer ones have more stuff available for them.
