Started the Stretch
Hi everyone well I started the stretch on my 82 G1 today. Cut the frame and welded in the 2 pipes so far and hopefully finish up tomorrow. I made it 9 inches longer.

Re: Started the Stretch
Thanks everyone, well I think a few of you know from last years posts I am a big guy and on a G1 there isn't much room for a big guy unless you move the seats back. But the body style on a G1 wont let you do that unless you do some body cutting. This way I'll have plenty of room and I wont have to worry about messing up the rear body due to seats plus I hear a little stretching will make it handle a lot better. Its really not that hard or trouble stretching a G1, everything is right there easy to get too. The only thing I see that is going to be hard for me is I cant weld upside down. So what I am going to do it just lift the cart from the front with my chain hoist real high like I do my John Deere when I sharpen the blades and then weld the underneath part of the round pipes. Haven't done anything to it today its raining hard here in WV but I might go out and make some brackets for the throttle control.
Thanks everyone for looking. Calvin |
