21 HP Electric Start Vanguard "V" Twin OHV MODEL 385777-0115 Vertical Shaft 21 Horse Power Case Iron Sleeve 12 Volt Electric Start 16 Amp Alternator 1” Diameter x 3.19” Keyed Crankshaft Drilled and Tapped 7/16-20 Equipped for Remote Oil Filter Oil Cooler Fuel Pump NO Muffler NO Gas Tank Found it used for $600 which would save me about $700-800 over new. Is it really worth the savings though, or am I better off buying the kit w/ the motor? Is there a wide variety of Vanguard motors, only of which a few certain ones will work, or will any of them work? How much alteration is necessary to the motor to get it ready for the conversion? ![]() And have a 1" shaft. You need a charging system if you don't have the cart gen on there. The rest is mostly what you want for your conversion. Some of the mufflers will fit inside a cart for example but hard to say, and things like that.
