Default Re: Charger recommendations for LEV60F 48V

Thanks Lenny. I agree with not relying on the BMS to manage charge. I'm not comfortable with any other chargers for Lifepo4 and going past 56V at all. I kept asking Lester to confirm the max. voltage for that SSII charger with the lithium profile suggested. If the Summit series II with that suggested profile actually does what they are saying and is set to max 56V, then it seems like it would work, unless I'm missing something. I just don't know if I'm getting accurate information, so that's what's frustrating. Nice to have some of the BMS settings. I will need that information shortly.
I did notice that difference in charge on Battery Hookup. The Yuasa manufacturers website states the 3.5V. You might want to ask EV West. I was looking at buying some LEV60 from them and the guy I spoke with discussed charge a little, but he was suggesting something like 3.42 V for some reason. Maybe, just trying to be conservative. I just bought some from battery hookup. Glad they got them back in stock cause they were $44 at EV West, the only place left selling them at that time. Hoping they will be good quality.

Realistically I don't think these small chargers 15-20A limited can push that much into the cells which are able to accept 1-3C ~200A charges. The minute you pull the charger off the cells lose the surface charge and show lower

Still struggling to find a charger... Here's a few options I've found. Any thoughts? Apparently, they don't make the same one any more. I can't find one similar to yours. Maybe I'm not searching by the right parameters??

Would this charger work if I order with 15S 54.8V lifepo4 config so as not to exceed 56V for LEV60F cells? Does it matter at all that is says 15S rather than 16S? Any thoughts? Doesn't it just charge to max 54.8V, doesn't care how many cells, etc...? I'm thinking that is the case, just want to make sure. I found the voltage chart so 54.8V seems like it would be fine. I emailed them to see if I could get custom one; however, it seems like the specified voltage is close enough. I need to make sure they can make it 110V input.
