![]() I have converted a mid 90s 48v DS to lithium with 4 Enjoybot 12 volt, 100ah batteries. It has no lift, no back seat or added weight, stock motor and controller.
Is there any way I can estimate the total distance it will travel on a charge? I'm not able where I can just drive it a long distance. |

![]() There are so many variables that make this nearly impossible to do.
You have also compounded the issue by running multiple 12v batteries. Unless you are using a multi bank 12v charger to charge each of them 1 by 1 these batteries will drift out of balance from one another and then you will start having issues with the weakest link shutting down well before the remaining batteries in the pack leaving you unexpectedly stranded. But best I can offer is in an ideal situation a 100ah lithium battery should offer 50% more run time then the LA batteries you had before when they were also in good shape. |

![]() to make this cart work reliably,,,, I'd have to just pull the 4 batteries and install one 48 rack battery. Is this what you are actually saying?
Just for argument sake, for performance, how much better would the cart run with a 48v 100ah single battery than the four 12v100ah batteries? From what I've been reading it would be the same. |

![]() Energy storage wise it's the same. So assuming you are not hitting current limits or have imbalanced cells, it should be the same range.

![]() Basically you just need to check independent battery voltage occasionally and make sure they are all close. If one gets out of range charge it independently, or better yet fully charge all of them independently to get everything balanced. Keep am eye on them for a bit and you can get an idea of how often this would be actually needed.

![]() You could do it monthly or simply monitor each battery's voltage. The company that I got my first set from said as long as they're all within 30 mV (0.03V) of each other they are considered balanced. If they fall outside of that range, then connect them in parallel for around 12 hours to balance
