Well, cleaned the carb--it was nasty--and made new gaskets for it, and it fired up and ran. That's all I wanted to see. I didn't want to run it more because of the broken bolt.

The lift for the red cart comes today, and the wheels/tires tomorrow. Probably going to get new spindles to go with the new lift...

Dave, if you need a different head for that engine I'm pretty shure I could scrounge one up.

Update on this project.

It turned out that is a '98. After tearing it apart, I realized that the frame was too far gone for me to do anything with. Tom, (G1-G9) hooked me up with a rust free frame from upstate NY--also a '98-- so I could re-build it from the ground up.

The engine came out of my '02 G16. I cleaned the carb and it fired right up after sitting for 3 yrs after the BB upgrade. The lift, wheels and tires and also came from the '02. Smallblock Dave got me some used unavailable brake adjusters to replace the very rusted frozen ones. Brake drums and 1 yr old shoes were '02 take-offs, as were the cables.

Changed the fluids, and found a good OEM air filter and a CCP Severe Duty belt for it. I tried a jet for a "lifted" cart--Yamaha part from CCP--and the cart would hardly run. The plug fouled quickly. The stock jet works fine.

Everything cleaned up well, and I only had to do a little painting on the frame. It's clean, but not a trailer queen.

It runs real well, and would make a great campground cruiser just as it is.

All in all, it was a fun project
