Ya' know? The title alone made me curious, and now I'm kinda' worried about you doing work on your cart!
You might want to spend some time (6 to 8 hours) doing some reading about all the things you can do to get more speed without blowing up your engine!

In the first picture... bend that bracket back so the cable is straight again! (or you'll be replacing a throttle cable!)
Next? that's not a spring... that's a protective boot so the cable won't rust!

The spring in the second picture is the one you zip tie! BUT... DO NOT zip it tight!
Leave slack in the tie so you have low end cruising speed, and you don't over-rev your engine and blow it up!
With 22" tires... you should only get a maximum of 21 to 23 mph before you over-rev your engine!

Here's a pic of how I did mine! (click on pic to enlarge)

I'm worried... very, VERY worried about you!

Yeah i bent that bracket up bc some moron told me to. It ran 25mph but was running hot and jerky at low speed. I knew it wasn't the right way to do it and figured you guys could help. I want 20mph out of it and i will be happy.

I put it on there and it would jump up to 19mph and governor would kick in and knock it down to about 17.5. Tightened it up a hair and its running 21mph cant feel governor kick in. Has 22in tires, think I'm safe?

The biggest thing you have to worry about is RPM's! and I know you don't have a way to monitor them,
if you did... you don't want to go over 4200 rpm's for an extended run until you get used to your cart!

IF... you run full throttle for a long period and you start to hear, or feel your engine "sputtering"... LET UP!
that's your valves floating, and THAT'S not good!

Happy carting!

Guaranteed... Same spring, I just use smaller Zip ties!
If it's backfiring, the Zip is too tight!
