Default 05 TXT goes way too fast

I had to change the carb on my 05 txt golf cart, 4 cycle 295 CC. The carb was leaking from the top of the bowl and nothing I did stopped the leakage. I put a new ez go carb on the cart Friday night and the cart was flying way to fast!! any ideas of how to adjust back to a normal speed level and why a simple carb change would up the speed so much?
thanks in advance

Probably a linkage adjustment going to the governor?

Can you point me in a direction either on this forum or elsewhere for instructions and pics on how to adjust the cart. Have seen some for a 08 RXV but it does not look the same as my 05 TXT
Thanks in advance

Not sure on an 05, think the linkage goes to the top of the rearend and some are
covered with a plate that's riveted on, to keep golfers from messing with it.

Sure someone here can help though.

Try lifting your foot up off of the accelerator a bit... that usually works for me.
