Default Jakes Heavy Duty Rear Springs- G29

Started installing the new LT Lift Kit. Got the front on/done.

Began the rear. Took the rear shock assemblies off to install the heavy duty springs I bought.

Is there a simpler way to remove the rear stock shock spring?

My cart is a 2015 G29/Drive. The issue is the retaining washer that holds the spring in place on the top of the shock is about 3/4 to 1 inch deep.

All the videos I have seen online they just put a little pressure/elbow grease with a flathead screwdriver and remove the retaining washer with a set of pliers.

But each video the retaining washer had a really small lip which made it easier to remove

I had a bear of a time on the PS rear assembly. The vise and the "flathead" ate up the top of the assembly. Ended up hack saw, dremel grinder and finally off.

Any better method so I can do the DS today without the hassle?

thanx

Cut the old spring with a die grinder.

I had to pull the shocks off and have someone hold it to get the clip off... wasn't as easy as they made it look on utube.....

I ended up using my dremel with a metal cutter bit....worked like a charm. Wish I had just done that to the Passenger side.haha oh well
