2003 Yamaha G22 Newbie/Questions
Looking at buying a 2003 Yamaha G22 as is for $1,800. Is this a good price? Is there anything I should know about this particular model? I will just be using it to run back and forth between my club and my house a time or two a week. Thanks

Its a great cart. Best suspension. Good ride. My first suggestion is stick a alltrax Xct 400 controller and upgraded battery cables. Presto, 24mph, done.

Since this post is in the gas section.....G22 is one of the best car's Yamaha built (imho). Check for overall condition. Make shure there are no "growling noises" coming from the transaxle or secondary clutch.

Re: 2003 Yamaha G22 Newbie/Questions
Holy crap!! My worst "crapper" ever! I looked in the electric section to check in...... Should i "bow out" on this one?..cant help myself (no wonder i couldnt find it in the yamaha electric section!)...... Yes, look for "Grrrr" sounds from rear axle, they get louder with engine rpm.(usually input shaft bearing).....The axle is expensive to repair when worn-out (which leads me to my next rant). The "best suspension/ride" part still applies, G22 is my #2 favorite ever cart, only surpassed by the "un-killable G2-G9 class destroyer" which only survives because it is barely capable of being destroyed, in its elder years it may smoke like a diesel, but will still run just fine. Guess i done out-matched everyone here for "bonehead award" this time.

Re: 2003 Yamaha G22 Newbie/Questions
So 02-07 are pretty stout years?
I've been looking at getting a yamaha gas cart. Just didn't know what year to look for other than a good deal. |
