Default Good day today

This was a good day today for my EZGO.

I had purchased a dcs cart back at Christmas and it seemed to run okay, but had lots of issues with the battery post that were bent, corroded warn battery cables, and wiring that had no terminal rings and just looked almost burnt. I have had many thoughts since Christmas that perhaps I made a mistake buying a golf cart.

The cart was really clean...visually well taken care of. Must have sat in the previous owners garage most of the time, but the cart needed some maintenance.

Not knowing anything about golf carts and with lots of messages posted here...with everyone's help and input, I decided to replace all the cables and put in a new set of batteries.

I am sure this is easy stuff for the folks around here, but I am starting at zero knowledge on golf carts.

I got everything wired up and new batteries put in with a full charge. I am using scottyb battery break-in tutorial and did the first driving this evening. I ended up putting around 6 to 8 miles of driving on the new batteries trying to get them 85 or so percent. The weather is cold so the driving was sort of difficult.

I am going to put in a new controller soon, but will wait until I get some more time and break in the batteries a little more.

I am going to fix the front and rear lighting mess the previous owner had. These wires look like a spaghetti mess. Probably going to do a Volt reducer instead of wiring them to 2 batteries. I guess my next skill to learn is dealing with the lights and Volt reducers.

At least at this point I am not regretting the cart purchase at Christmas. I guess Christmas is coming a little late this year now I have a cart that I can enjoy.

Thanks for all the help.
