So when I wire the radio. Can I wire it to the key switch or should I wire it straight to the batteries

You need 12V for the radio I assume!

Yeah I built the cart about 6 or 7 months ago. I couldn't remember if the key switch was 12 or 36v. DVM went missing. That's why I love this site. U guys are awesome.

Get a meter and check things out so that you don't let the smoke out of the radio. I am sure it wants 12V so you have to wire it from your reducer if you have one. (or off of two of your 6V batteries) There won't be 12V at your key switch.

Harbor freight gives DVM 's away.
And the factory light kit on my txt is wired to two batteries to make 12v |

I think my kid grabbed it when he was working on his friends cart. No idea when it will come home lol
