Late 90s ezgo txt with bandit motor, questions on upgrades
I have a late 90s txt that has a plum quick bandit upgrade. I want more torque for the hills where i drive around town (i lose 10mph or more on most hills) ive been researching and know ill need a new controller, solenoid, and potentially FnR switch, and move from 4 to 2 gauge wiring.
However, i cant figure out what i need. Im looking at alltrax but i cant figure out which will work best for my setup. Can someo e point me in the right direction. Too many different part numbers. |

Re: Late 90s ezgo txt with bandit motor, questions on upgrades
Since you mention upgrading the F&R I assume you have a Series drive cart? But see the chart below to be sure.
Best bet is the new Alltrax SR48500 control and 400 super solenoid combo. Use A truly HD F&R like EZ575 (other HD F&Rs are not HD enough) or a SW202 reversing contactor kit for the BEST in heavy duty switching. Combined with 2g cabling these components will allow your motor to be all it can be and will support most any aftermarket motor you may get in the future too. I hope this helps |

In addition to the upgrades Scotty suggested, going to a higher voltage (42V or 48V) battery pack will also reduce the amount the cart slows going uphill. How tall are the tires on your cart? Are they on-road or off-road tires and what is the max inflation pressure listed on the sidewall? |

Re: Late 90s ezgo txt with bandit motor, questions on upgrades
I agree Johnnie, the series drive 1999 TXT cart used in the SR48500 install thread here > http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...r-install.html responded very will to adding a 7th 6v battery under the drivers seat. The additional voltage really increases the current punch. Later I installed the FN1 speed switch on the fly. This allowed me to dial up s more aggressive throttle response when needed or tone it down around the barn or garage.

Re: Late 90s ezgo txt with bandit motor, questions on upgrades
Thanks everyone. I should have added...21" tires on 5"lift, street tires not offroad. And yes series drive. Thanks Scotty for the overall breakdown of each piece and thanks to everybody else for chiming in and backing everything up for me
And I'm assuming that the majority of these parts should be compatible should I change from 36 volt to 48 volt? |
