in my experience, a pds motor on a stock tire size (or a moderate street tire size like 10" rims like 205\50-10) will only last a couple of years at 48v. lift kits & big tires is gonna be a killer.

Lol Scottyb we already know I'm not. I'm learning though. Maybe I'll just do the motor upgrade first. I have my eyes set on a plum quick executioner. Then maybe do the battery pack upgrade along with heavy duty rear hubs.

Actually, we don't know who has what ability, it's one of the mysteries of keyboard support. It seems whenever I assume I know, well....So, thank you for telling me.

I'm not a fan of motor first upgrades. I believe the amperage delivery system has to be upgraded to support the motor before it is installed. Otherwise you got a 500 pound gorilla and no bananas.

The whole cart is designed around a 2.5 hp motor for 18" on a golf course path.

If you get the motor first, put it in the closet until you get the system ready.

I gotta agree with Scotty on this.... Upgrading the motor will result in the cart being imbalanced. The motor is going to be asking for more power than can be delivered and 1 of 2 things will happen.

1. The controller will fry due to being at max delivery constantly

2. The motor brushes will fry faster than normal due to being underpowered.

Either way, the result is more $$ spent fixing the issues down the line.
