Increasing speed on my G29 gas cart
I have a 2011 Yamaha that I have had a few months. It runs great, no issues at all but I would like to see more speed. Are there any adjustments, or upgrades I can to to get there? Thanks

Re: Increasing speed on my G29 gas cart
Or you can just adjust the governor for free. It's a bracket with spring on top of the axle. Tighten the 10mm nut for more speed. The nut will pull the spring tighter. Or you can wrap a zip tie around the bracket & spring, then pull tight.

Re: Increasing speed on my G29 gas cart
Thanks for the responses. I will try the governor adjustment and see how it works first. I visited the plowmans website and would love to get a performance kit......eventually.

Re: Increasing speed on my G29 gas cart
Wingsfan, please elaborate. What exactally does Don do to enhance dependability & reliability? How does it improve those two things? I know his kit improves power & speed, and may include a belt, so please don't include that in the answer.

Re: Increasing speed on my G29 gas cart
Not offended. And have not seen a clogged muffler since a G14. Just wondering what the improvements were besides speed and power (which don't really qualify as dependability & reliability).

Re: Increasing speed on my G29 gas cart
zip tie method works well and easily removed... I only get about 23 mph with 22" tires, I may not have the spring maxed out.. but with the 6in lift 23 seems plenty fast enough for me as steering gets real touchy at that point.. don't really want to try going 30
