36v Powerwise charger
I am new to electric golf carts and just charged our new to us 99 Txt for the first time. I plugged it in last night at 10pm and checked it at 8am this morning. The gauge said it was still putting about 5 amps into the batteries. The battery gauge on the cart still read full when I plugged it in last night, so I expected the charger to have been shut down by the time I checked it this morning.
I am starting to wonder if I have an Issue with my charger where it does not shut off? How long should I expect for a complete charge if cycle to take on my cart? The batteries are 6-6v only 3 months old. The charger is a 1998 powerwise by ezgo charger. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: 36v Powerwise charger
What is the On charge voltage? We would expect it to be 44-46v when the charger shuts off. Also, what did the ammeter rise to when first plugged in?

Re: 36v Powerwise charger
Does the charger cut off when you unplug it from the cart? I’ve seen many jumped relays in cart chargers.

Re: 36v Powerwise charger
The ammeter was putting out close to 20 Amps initially. I will see what it does when not plugged in to the cart when I charge it tonight. Are you supposed to plug them in every night or just as needed?
Thanks for replying. I am new to the electric carts, so I am learning a lot from this forum! I couldn’t find anything on exactly how the charger is supposed to operate and cycle through the various charging stages. We are heading out with it tonight to the campgrounds, I am definitely taking my meter along to check on the output of the charger, and to check the General state of charge on the batteries vs what my gauge is telling me.
