We've gone WAY off topic, but, the purest water is VERY aggressive. It really wants to dissolve nearly anything to be happy. If anyone tries to sell you a whole house water softener, just say no.
Just ask anyone who maintains a closed loop heat exchanger. I built a few. They need corrosion inhibitors, just like your car, and that water ain't even that pure. It's also the reason water providers have to add corrosion inhibitors, so the water is happy before hitting your lead soldered plumbing. |
