Re: Christmas Float - Lights
Also, started out with 56.6v and was 53.5 or 53.7v when complete. So the lith pack held up pretty well towing the float.

Re: Christmas Float - Lights
Doh! Data Log! Sorry Johnnie B, completely forgot.
Normally we do take the float out and about for looking at Christmas lights between parade night and New Years Eve. But.. we've had about 40 hours of rain in the last two days. I'm hoping for a clear day today so maybe it'll dry out enough to be useable. If that's the case then I can get a datalog |

And for those wondering, here's how I stopped the wheelies. Held on to the front axle by big, fat zip ties with a rope backup.

Re: Christmas Float - Lights
I took the float out again last night. 5 adults, 8 kids. Started at 55.5v and ran for 45 to 60 minutes. Very few stops, continual slow roll. Slower than the parade by a little, so maybe 6mph as it was cold and it doesn't take much breeze to make everybody miserable.
When I got back and backed the float into the yard took out the temp gun. outside it's 46 degrees, controller is 105 and motor is 141. Finished the run at 52.5v I had the 5 amp charger on while running. Since this was a longer duration of time than the parade I wanted the charger on just in case. So That sounds pretty good to me. I don't have the accessory fan on the Alltrax, so 105 is less than I thought it'd be. The motor at 141 is a little more than I would want, but still better than I feared... If that makes sense. Sorry Johnnie, no data log this run either... |

Re: Christmas Float - Lights
Those temps sound good for slow going speed and pulling a heavy load. The motor case temp is still low compared to the temp it should stay under which is around 200F.
