Default Re: Near New Batteries draining quickly?

When testing my batteries, I would charge them then let them set overnite(10-12 hrs) snd everything seemed to check normal but would lose power after a short drive. When I checked them under load I was surprised. The numbers were something like
11.3
6.9
7.3
7.8
If your chwrger is not a match for your batteries maybe its caused some damage.

Many High Frequency chargers need to have the charge profile updated if you change batteries. The new batteries may not be charged properly by the profile that's in the charger.
The QuiQ series chargers can be updated but only with special connection adapters that it seems only dealers have.

You may want to get a new more modern charger that allows you to change the profile yourself.
I don't think I have that charger...mine says SC-48 on it, here is a link to what I have:

I'll load test this weekend. I charged again last night and after 1.5 hours pack was 50.9 and all batteries showed 12.6. I'll post up the 24 hour numbers and I'll do load testing tomorrow and report pack and individual numbers. Maybe then you guys can help me glean some knowledge. thanks!

I didn;t have the time to do a full test with all individual batteries but not long after a full charge, I tested the whole pack. 42.4 volts (approx) at full throttle. This is stock cart with Bob Boyce programming so around 700 peak amps? After sitting about an hour or so same full throttle registered 41.3 volts. Both runs on flat ground.

In total, after less than a mile of driving and sitting for an hour or so in between - the pack stabilized at about 49.6 volts.

Can any conclusions about these batteries be made or do I need more testing? So hard to believe these batteries are shot after less than a year? I really want to make sure nothing is wrong with the cart if I have to replace them with a new set. Can;t afford to have this happen to another set of batteries!

ok, did more testing on a hill:

Pre test State of Charge: 50.0 Volts

first run entire pack:
start voltage: 50.0 V
full throttle up the hill: 41.8 to 43.0 (starts low then voltage builds as usual)

second run battery #1:
start: 12.1 V
10.4 to 10.6

third run battery #2:
start: 12.2 V
10.3 to 10.6

fourth run battery #3:
start: 12.2 V
10.2 to 10.5

Fifth run battery #4:
start: 12.1 V
10.4 to 10.6

post test state of charge (waited about 45 minutes): 49.3 V

I would not condem batteries yet until you can confirm the charge profile is correct.
Just saying.
Batteries are the major cost of our carts assuming proper care should get more then a year with name brand batteries? 😊

Dr hill did you check their website on how to change profiles? Although not easy to navigate it will show how to change profiles.
Your problem is not batteries but how they are being charged😊

I did check the delta q and ezgo sites, absolutely no info on the sc-48 in regards to charge profiles. I have an email into tech support. If that fails i am considering an aftermarket float charger...any recommendations?
