2014 ezgo txt48 charging problem
I have a seasonal site where we keep our cart. 2 weeks ago we drove cart around all weekend no problems. Before I left I plugged it in for the week an went on our way. Last week when we arrived I unplugged it an went to drive cart and made it about 200 yards and cart rolled to a dead stop. I got it back to my site and when I plugged it in to the powerwise qe ( junk I know) I get 5 red flashes then green for a second then nothing.
- Cart has 6 8v trojan batteries 2016 - They have been filled with distilled water monthly. - I replaced the entire charge port and all 4 wires included with port - each battery is at 7.9volts and pack reads around 47.5 at charge port There is some corrosion on the batteries and they are kind of dirty. Could this cause my cart not to charge? Anything else I am missing? I dont have a 8v charger to try and manually charge them either. I really need my cart for the holiday weekend but cannot for the life of me figure this out. Thanks for any help or advise Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk |

Re: 2014 ezgo txt48 charging problem
First clean the terminals and get all grime off batteries. The battery will discharge from dirt on battery. The corrosion will prevent battery from charging blocking current from the charger from reaching battery. Then retry charger.
But truth be; its probably to late for the charger. You already stated "junk". After cleaning batteries up give charger another try. If still get code I would recommend replace. On 48 volt: I have had best luck with the delta technologies and lester chargers. However I have not had a good experience with the Bluetooth on the summit 2 charger by lester. The charger works good but the bluetooth is almost worthless; will only connect first time then unusable. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |

Re: 2014 ezgo txt48 charging problem
Whatever you do, you need to do quickly, as your batteries are below 50% SOC and are getting more and more permanent damage, the longer you wait. I've never messed with 8 volt batteries, but I'd think you could use a car charger on a lower setting and monitor voltage closely. Try and get them close to 100% while you work out your charger situation.

Re: 2014 ezgo txt48 charging problem
100% would be around 8.6 volts correct?
